Just a note to folks, while my Canon 8800F scanner would work with the existing 'Mavericks' drivers under Sierra 10.12.x, it doesn't work with the existing MP Navigator EX 1.0 under High Sierra 10.13 which crashes immediately upon starting. I've reinstalled the software/drivers and still the same (since the update uninstalled quite a few things anyway, i had to reinstall quite a bit of software).

Suggestions welcome. Running on a iMac 21.5 2017 4k model. Really new mac. Just testing update to 10.13, so far this is the one app (still reinstalling some) that hasn't worked for me. My update: I ended up running a virtual machine like I mentioned (sierra didn't work, 10.9 did, now i'm going to see how far forwards I can go with my virtual machines 10.10, 10.11.) and see if it will work with those too or not.
My virtual machine of 10.12 didn't, unfortunately even though it had before like you and I mentioned. I have the luxury of VMWare Fusion license through work that I can run at home too though. I didn't want to buy VueScan if I didn't have to. Note: once you install High Sierra, you're not able to download Sierra (or anything else for that matter) from the app store because it will say it will not run on your computer or with High Sierra. I had to download them on another machine I still had Sierra installed on.:-( So i'm archiving those copies for now for myself. I have the DVD's of the older versions (originals) as well. Maybe i'll make a virtual machine of every OSX Just for the fun of it!
